Unterzuckerungen (Hypoglyk\u00e4mien) k\u00f6nnen eine schwerwiegende akute Komplikation einer Zuckerkrankheit (Diabetes mellitus) darstellen. Hypoglyk\u00e4mien \u00e4ussern sich durch eine Verminderung der Konzentration, einer Verlangsamung von Auffassung und Denkprozessen sowie Einschr\u00e4nkungen zahlreicher psychomotorischer Funktionen. Dies ist insbesondere im Strassenverkehr kritisch, wo teilweise komplexe Entscheidungen rasch getroffen werden m\u00fcssen. Das Forscherteam unter der Leitung von Prof. Dr. Christoph Stettler beabsichtigt, Hypoglyk\u00e4mien durch Analyse der vom Fahrzeug w\u00e4hrend der Autofahrt in Echtzeit gewonnenen Daten zu detektieren. Bereits heute werden w\u00e4hrend der Autofahrt hunderte von Fahrparametern erfasst. Diese Daten sollen nun genutzt und mittels sogenanntem \u00abmaschinellem Lernen\u00bb laufend analysiert werden, um Ver\u00e4nderungen des Fahrverhaltens zu erkennen, welche auf eine Hypoglyk\u00e4mie hindeuten. Die Forscher werden in einem ersten Schritt Untersuchungen am Fahrsimulator durchf\u00fchren, wobei Patienten unter \u00e4rztlicher \u00dcberwachung in eine Hypoglyk\u00e4mie versetzt werden. In einem n\u00e4chsten Schritt werden diese Untersuchungen auf abgesperrten Teststrecken in echte Autos auf die Strasse verlagert. Eine grosse Herausforderung dieses Projekts besteht nebst der Datenextraktion und Echtzeitverarbeitung unter Anwendung komplexer mathematischer Algorithmen (\u00abmachine-learning\u00bb) insbesondere in der kontrollierten Herbeif\u00fchrung einer Hypoglyk\u00e4mie im fahrenden Auto, einem Unterfangen, welches von logistischer und medizinischer Seite her sehr aufw\u00e4ndig ist und das eine \u00abWeltpremiere\u00bb darstellt. Das Projekt wird vom Schweizer Nationalfonds unterst\u00fctzt (sinergia-Projekt). <\/p>\n
